The idea behind EN—VISION

It doesn't happen by itself.

Meet Environmental Engineering · Polish narration · English captionsWhat is environmental engineering, really?
00:30
Read the transcript

You use it every day, even though you usually don't see it. Environmental engineering is responsible for the water in your tap, fresh air, heat in winter and working sewers. These systems run non-stop — they turn a building from an empty shell into a place where people can live.

SIGNAL / 03Kortosfera series

Behind the water in your tap, the heat in winter and working sewers there is real engineering work.

That is what EN—VISION is about: seeing these systems up close and designing better ones.

Show how you think about the environment

One competition for schools and one for university students. Both finals take place on 18 November at EN—VISION.

Teams from secondary schools

Project competition for schools

“Smart City zaczyna się tutaj” (Smart City Starts Here)

The starting point is an environmental problem the team has noticed in its own surroundings. The team's task is to investigate it and propose a possible solution.

How it works

  1. Choose a problem and gather observations.
  2. Develop a solution as a team.
  3. The jury shortlists the projects.
  4. Finalists present their work at EN—VISION.

Who submits

Each team is submitted by its supervising teacher. A school may enter more than one team, and each pupil may belong to only one team.

DIALOG / 06Panel discussion

The future of environmental engineering — a debate

What will the future of environmental engineering look like? Which technologies will shape the industry, and what career opportunities await young engineers?

Representatives of academia and business, together with industry practitioners, will discuss where environmental engineering is heading: new technologies, the challenges of the energy transition and environmental protection, and the skills employers are looking for.

We will pay particular attention to the prospects of the young generation of engineers — career development, employers' expectations and how to prepare for work in a fast-changing industry.

The debate is also a chance for students and company representatives to exchange experience directly and to ask questions about their future careers.

Debate topic

“The future belongs to environmental engineers – challenges, technologies, careers”
